Le cirque de Cilaos (1h30)

Cilaos is located at the centre of the island in a natural cirque of the same name, in the southern part of the Piton des Neiges mountain range. You can go by car to the cirque from Saint-Louis. On foot, there are several possibilities to get there. One is through the Taïbit pass, in the north-west, which is used by hikers on their way back from Mafate. In the north-east, another trail leads to the Piton des Neiges through the Grand Matarum forest.
